(NewsBreakDaily.org) – Both China and the World Health Organization told the world the communist country self-reported the existence of COVID-19 in 2019. But it turns out that was all a big lie. It really shouldn’t be any surprise at this point.
The WHO actually found out about the coronavirus spreading in China by reading information posted on a US website.
This week, the country quietly admitted they lied. Their new updated timeline shows Tedros Adhanom, WHO’s director-general, was lying for months when he insisted China had informed them about the pandemic.
Both China and WHO repeated that lie multiple times in interviews and press conferences.
The WHO posted a new timeline this week, showing officials learned about the virus on December 31, 2019. But instead of hearing about it from China’s officials, the organization learned from American doctors working in Wuhan.
For months the Chinese said they informed WHO on Dec. 31. They’ve now dropped that narrative.
Republicans Knew It Was a Lie
Even before the WHO updated its timeline, congressional Republicans were on to the lie. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) was the first one to expose it. Last month, the lawmaker’s House committee and Congress’ China Task Force put out a report on the virus’ origins. In the report, they made it clear the health organization learned of COVID-19 from US online postings.
McCaul told the Washington Free Beacon he was glad to see the WHO finally admitting the truth. He also said the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) violated regulations when they failed to report the outbreak.
It was a propaganda campaign by the CCP when they claimed they warned the world about the pandemic. They didn’t — and worse, the WHO went along with the lie.
McCaul’s report concluded Tedros was actively defending the CCP and those actions negatively impacted the “world’s understanding of the virus and hampering the global response effort.”
McCaul was right — his findings were verified when the WHO changed their initial timeline.
