DNC Puts the “D” in Delusional

(NewsBreakDaily.org) – During the past week, the Democrat’s 2020 election message has become clear: Donald Trump is a mean, bad, orange man; Joe Biden is nice. Vote for Joe Biden.

This is evidenced by the constant berating of President Trump and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies,” former President Barack Obama said of Trump on Wednesday. “I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously…But he never did. For close to four years now, hes shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.”

Everyone from Michelle Obama, to Bill Clinton, to Bernie Sanders, to Joe Biden used part of their remarks to paint the most unflattering picture of President Trump. But they didn’t do it by discussing specific policy, they did it by calling him racist, uncaring, and mean.

In contrast, Joe Biden was presented as a caring, empathetic, father-figure type. They had a kid with a stutter talk about how Biden encouraged him when they met on the campaign trail. Biden’s granddaughters gave anecdotes about their grandfather’s love for Breyer’s vanilla ice cream. Much time was spent on talking about Joe’s family, especially, his sone Beau who, unfortunately, passed away from brain cancer in 2015.

The DNC made a conscious effort to draw a personality distinction between the two candidates. The Democrats want 2020 to be a decision between two people, not ideas. To beat Trump, they believe they have to make the election a referendum exclusively on his handling of the Coronavirus and his personality.

To do this, however, the Dems had to cast policy aside. Sure, there were brief mentions of climate change, health insurance, and gun rights, but never precise policy plans. And then they completely ignored China, Iran, and the chaos in America’s streets.

At the RNC next week, President Trump needs to come to the American people with a clear focus on what a second term will hold. Use the opportunity to inform the American people on what is to be done to fix the economy, combat China, and restore law and order to America’s big cities.

Inform and then excite. Give Americans a vision of what the future may hold. Donald Trump once said, “As long as you are going to be thinking any way, think big.
